Faith in Focus – week 1
…there could be something incredibly grand and incomprehensible and beyond our present understanding – Richard Dawkins – Time Nov. 5, 2006

No, no. I can’t prove to you that Jesus is God, so that truth is mine and mine alone but you can’t prove to me that Jesus is not, so you have to stay in your little belief system – Bill O’Reilly in an exchange with Richard Dawkins April 23, 2007

A Relativistic Truth

Whatever is true for you, you need to be true to that truth. Hollywood executive

The Logical Incoherence of relativism
Concerning the notion of relative truth…it is very difficult to make sense of it. An assertion that a proposition is “true for me” (or “true for members of my culture”) is more readily understood as a claim about what I (or members of my culture) believe than it is a claim ascribing to that proposition some peculiar form of truth. Blackwell Companion to Philosophy

Great thinkers throughout time have viewed truth as _______________

In the beginning, God… – Genesis 1:1

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. John 1:1-2

If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:31-32

I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me. “What is truth?” Pilate asked. John 18:37-38

Therefore love truth and peace. Zechariah 8:19b
